Several development projects approved to promote tourism in Multan
ISLAMABAD: While chairing a meeting at South Punjab Secretariat, the provincial Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik announced the promotion of tourism in Multan.
The meeting was briefed on the several ongoing projects in the city, including restoration of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria and Hazrat Shah Rukn-i-Alam shires worth Rs19 million, beautification of the Qasim Fort for Rs30 million.
The initiative to protect the city’s heritage was announced in accordance with the Prime Minister’s vision.
The attendees of the meeting were Minister for Culture Khayal Ahmed Castro and Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Capt. R Saqib Zafar, Chairman Walled City Project Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi, MPA Javed Akhtar Ansari, Commissioner Dr. Irshad Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Amir Karim Khan, DG PHA and officers of Metropolitan Corporation and Prof. Sajida Haider Windal.
