Property transfers and real estate transactions vigorously depend on Pakistan’s verified land ownership system. With a proper channel of checking the title of landholding, a potential buyer can always rely on the safety of the purchase. Thanks to technological enhancements and the growing collaboration of real estate with tech, the problem of checking property ownership have become a lot easier.

These advancements include electronic portals, websites, and mobile applications verifying listings and offering detailed insight into properties’ information. The government has also adapted this system in an online record verification system by digitising the urban land record of Punjab and Sindh.

Graana.com walks you through a step-by-step procedure on how to check property ownership in Pakistan.

Land Record Management Information System (LRIMS)

LRIMS in Sindh and Punjab have an advanced electronic portal maintained by the Revenue Authorities of both provinces. These platforms have since their launch assisted in any challenges that might have occurred in the real estate transferring process. The digital database serves thousands of people every day looking to invest or purchase land. This system eradicated the problems of the land mafia and fraudulent agents in the country.

What are the Steps Involved in Checking Property Ownership

Now that you’ve learned about the digital database options in Pakistan, it’s time to take that step further. If you’re new to this process, the following are some steps you can take to check the title of landholder:

  • Search ‘Sindh Zameen Land Record’ or ‘Punjab Zameen Land Record’.
  • Now that you have landed on the website’s homepage, you can select the desired options and fill in the fields of your choice that will help you look for the record.
  • First, select the respective district of the property from the menu.
  • Next, select your Tehsil from the drop-down menu beside the first menu.
  • The third step is to pick the property area you want to check from the menu.
  • Now you can choose the criteria for your search from three options. These options include CNIC, Name, or Property Number (Khewat).
  • Once you have entered the required information in the fields, you can just click the button named ‘Search’ and you will get your results.
