LAHORE: “Property tax will be based on rental value instead of on area, and no duty or tax will be levied on entertainment at the provincial level,” announced Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, while presiding over a meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Resource Mobilization 2021-22. Dadocha Dam’s construction in progress; Commissioner

RAWALPINDI: The construction of Dadocha Dam is in progress as about 12 per cent of work has been completed, informed Commissioner Rawalpindi Capt. (R) Muhammad Mehmood. The dam project is aimed at the public benefit and its construction will be accommodating for the water shortage situation in Rawalpindi. According to the details, excavation work on the spillway and perennial pipe flow is about to be completed.  The construction of this priority project kicked off in December 2020, under which land worth Rs6.429 billion is being acquired. WASA’s NOC mandatory for high rise, commercial buildings: RDA

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to strike the rules for illegal high rise/commercial buildings making it mandatory to acquire a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) concerning water supply, sewerage system and rainwater harvesting for approval of maps. According to the officials, DG RDA Capt (Retd) Abdul Sattar Isani has advised the authorities not to give consent to any high rise/commercial building plans without NOC from WASA.
