LDA announces several mega development projects

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has planned to develop various mega projects under CM’s new Lahore Development Package. The officials of LDA said that three flyovers at Shahkam Chowk, Sheranwala Gate and Karim Block will be constructed meanwhile, an underpass is also planned to be developed in front of Gulab Devi Hospital on Ferozpur Road.   The officials further added that LDA has invited applications for pre-qualification of contractors and engineering firms for construction till February 4, 2021. Nine projects worth Rs.251bn approved by ECNEC

ISLAMABAD: In a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved nine mega development projects worth Rs.251 billion. The approved projects include the construction of Gwadar-Ratodero (M-8) road project was also approved in the meeting. The project worth Rs.38bn of Ministry of Communication is executed by National Highway Authority (NHA) and is of great significance in light of CPEC connectivity. CDA to develop Islamabad’s first ‘Urban Forestry Park’

ISLAMABAD: To promote recreational activities, Islamabad’s first ‘Urban Forestry Park’ – spanning over an area of 350 acres in Malpur, alongside Rawal Lake will be developed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA). The park will also comprise of a water body stretching over the area of 35acres. The Director Environment, CDA told that the ‘Model Forestry Park’ will be developed in the next five years at a cost of Rs.1,164 million. Rs120mn allocated for cycling tracks on main roads of Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: In a bid to promote cycling activities, a sum of Rs120 million has been allocated to mark cycling tracks on the main avenues of Rawalpindi, informed the Rawalpindi Development Authority. Under phase 1 of the project, a 5km-long cycling lane will be marked from Karal Chowk to Ammar Chowk. The width of the cycling lane will be 5ft. In phase-II, the track will be marked from Ammar Chowk to Chaklala Scheme-III and Jinnah Park, stretching along with Golf Club and Ayub Park playland. PPP Board approves construction of link road between M-9, N-5

KARACHI: In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sindh, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) policy board authorized the construction of link road between M-9, N-5. The members of the meeting were informed that a 21.8km long link road between M-9 motorway and N-5 highway is required to be constructed. CDA approves 41 building plans, generating Rs80mn

ISLAMABAD: A total of 41 commercial and residential building plans were approved by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) during the last 20 days, generating the sum of Rs80 million. 10 buildings were also issued the certificate of completion by the authority. In the current year, the Department of Building Control of CDA received a total of 121 plans for approval.
