ISLAMABAD: Pakistani and Chinese researchers met to propose the establishment of a CPEC Digital Transformation Centre (DTC) in Pakistan. Scholars from Xi’an Jiao Tong University, University of Peshawar, Chinese University of Political Science and Law, and Islamia College University concluded in their study that CPEC needs to be digitalised by initiating a DTC in the country. SBP raises interest rate to 13.75%

In a bid to tackle soaring inflation, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) approved a 150-basis point (bps) increase on Monday, taking the base interest rate up to 13.75% from 12.25%.  The decision came as Finance Minister Miftah Ismail travelled to Doha to hold talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about the renewal of the $6 billion loan program.  Although this move was widely expected, policymakers went beyond the predicted level of 100 bps. CDA plans to approve Islamabad Expressway expansion project

ISLAMABAD: The expansion of Islamabad Expressway from PWD to Grand Trunk (G.T.) Road is expected to initiate soon as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is on-board to approve the project. The project will be executed through a government-owned contractor agency.
