Surge in cement, steel prices

KARACHI: The prices of cement and steel have surged as the manufacturers increase the purchasing cost. The new prices of steel bars were increased by Rs5, 000 per ton to Rs128, 500, adding to a cumulative increase of Rs18, 000 per ton within the last one-and-a-half months. Similarly, the cement prices were also increased by Rs45 to Rs625 per 50 kg bag in the last two months. ISLAMABAD: The remittances transferred through Roshan Digital Accounts surpassed $200 million, it was announced. The $200 million mark was achieved in 28 days, whereas the first $100m mark was achieved in 76 days. RDA to protect citizens’ investments by reviewing housing societies

RAWALPINDI: In an attempt to protect the investments of citizens and promote ethical real estate practises, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has announced it will review housing societies, informed RDA Metropolitan & Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Director, Shahzad Haider. This initiative is aimed at resolving matters pertaining to legal issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the residents of illegal housing societies from RDA, for the installation of utility services including water, gas, and electricity connections. LDA completes consultant hiring process for Lahore Master Plan

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) completed the last phase of the hiring process of a consultant for the preparation of the Lahore Master Plan 2050. In a meeting chaired by LDA DG Ahmed Aziz Tarar, it was informed that a consortium of Dar-ul-Hindsa (Lebanon), Mine Heart (Singapore), and NESPAK (Pakistan) had been shortlisted, out of a total of seven, for the preparation of the Lahore Master Plan.
